Family Program

Successful therapy is built on a foundation of client and family acceptance, hope, honesty, and the willingness to engage in difficult conversations. Healing occurs when individuals and their family members can move beyond the thoughts, feelings, beliefs, and behaviors that maintain their problems and begin to engage in new thoughts, feelings, beliefs, and behaviors that promote healing!” (Dr. Michael Barnes)

Complete recovery is not just about calming our minds, it includes rejuvenating our body as well.

Our family program strives to provide a clear picture of what individuals go through in the treatment process, as well as a path for family members moving forward. Through education, connection, and personal responsibility, family members will have the opportunity to craft their own next steps and begin the process of "family recovery".

Addiction is a family disease and our goal at Foundry Steamboat Springs is to assist in the process of healing for the entire family system.

We do this by offering education and support, while also providing referrals for ongoing family recovery services in your community.

Our family services are designed to help families feel supported and heard while providing educational resources that help facilitate their healing process.  To begin, one primary family support person is identified who will act as a liaison to the rest of the family. Families are then invited to write Impact letters that will be shared with their loved one; these letters allow a safe space for families to share their feelings and experiences in their own words. Families are provided support via weekly educational phone calls and have the opportunity to participate in extended phone calls with their loved one when clinically appropriate to support effective communication and to facilitate aftercare planning discussions.

Due to the variable lengths of stay, those individuals who stay longer in treatment have the opportunity for increased family work, to include in-person visits at the Ranch, as well as short off-campus passes with their loved ones (up to 3 hours).
